In certain Jeeps, you may find the camera guidelines are missing. This is due to a new camera that Jeep has started using. The PAC camera module–RPA-HD1–must be updated. Follow the steps below to update the camera module.
Applicable Products: JW18RB12, RB10JW18, RB10JW18HP, RB10JW18X, SRK-JW18EH, SRK-JW18HX, SRX-JW18128
- Download and install the PAC Update Utility Tool.
- On your PC's home screen, double-click the RadioPro icon to open the app.
- Download the Firmware for the camera module.
- Remove the dash to access the camera module.
- If you don't have a laptop to perform the update, remove the camera module and bring it to your PC.
- If you have a laptop to perform the update, unplug the 3-pin power connector from the camera module.
- Connect the camera module to your PC or laptop using a Micro-B USB cable specifically intended for data transfer. The module will flash and display Connected in the upper left corner of the RadioPro application. Additionally, the fields for Product Name, Product Software Version, and Product Hardware Version should be populated. If these fields are not populated, the USB cable being used is not designed for data transfer and will not work.
- Click on the Firmware button, then click on the Select File button. Locate the firmware you downloaded in your Downloads folder, then double-click the file to start the update procedure. Allow the update when prompted.
- When the app prompts Update completed. It is now safe to unplug the camera module.
- Reconnect the camera module to the Jeep and then start the Jeep.
- Put the vehicle in reverse and test that the camera guidelines are now working.
