If Apple CarPlay or Android Auto isn't working after you install this radio kit in a Jeep Gladiator JT or Wrangler JL / JLU, work through the checks below in order.
Applicable Products: RB10JW18
Troubleshooting Steps
- Use the armrest USB port: Make sure your phone is plugged into the USB cable routed to the armrest center console. The dash USB port is charge-only and won't run CarPlay or Android Auto.
Check the radio's USB1 port: If CarPlay or Android Auto still doesn't work, check that the armrest cable is plugged into the USB1 port on the back of the radio, labeled USB 1 CP/AA. The USB cables are often reversed, so swap them if needed.
- Test directly at the radio: If it still doesn't work, plug your phone cable directly into the radio's USB1 port. If CarPlay or Android Auto works this way, the factory USB receptacle (the most common cause) or the USB-UN2 extension is likely faulty and needs to be replaced.
Note: For best results, use a quality phone cable no longer than 3 feet.
