In some Jeep vehicles, the backup camera guidelines may be missing because Jeep has started using a new camera. To fix this, update the PAC camera module (RPA-HD1) using the steps below.
Applicable Products: JW18RB12, RB10JW18, RB10JW18HP, RB10JW18X, SRK-JW18EH, SRK-JW18HX, SRX-JW18128
Firmware Update Instructions
- Download and install the PAC Update Utility Tool (Windows .exe).
- On your PC's desktop, double-click the RadioPro icon to open the app.
- Download the RPA-HD1 camera module firmware (V4).
- Remove the dash panel to access the camera module, then do one of the following:
- With a laptop: Unplug the 3-pin power connector from the camera module and update it in the vehicle.
- Without a laptop: Remove the camera module and bring it to your PC.
-
Connect the camera module to your PC or laptop with a Micro-B USB data cable. The module flashes, and Connected appears in the upper-left corner of the RadioPro app. The Product Name, Product Software Version and Product Hardware Version fields should also fill in. If they stay empty, your cable is charge-only and won't work. Use a USB cable made for data transfer.
- Click Firmware, then click Select File. In your Downloads folder, double-click the firmware file you downloaded in step 3 to start the update. Allow the update when prompted.
- Wait until the app shows Update completed, then unplug the camera module.
- Reconnect the camera module in the Jeep, then start the vehicle.
- Put the vehicle in reverse and check that the camera guidelines now appear.
- Once the guidelines are working, reinstall the dash panel.
