The following are common questions and FAQ’s regarding the Stinger Opsis dashcam.
Applicable part numbers: SDC-2CH2KQHD, SDC-2CHFHD
- The dashcam works out of the box with the default settings to protect you. When you start the vehicle, the dashcam assistant will announce, “Continuous recording will now start”. There will also be a Red status light. This is your confirmation that everything is working and the dashcam is protecting you.
- The dashcam records 1-minute segments in continuous recording. These videos will be deleted automatically when the Micro-SD card runs out of memory, starting with the oldest video first.
- When an impact occurs–like an accident–the dashcam beeps once to confirm it recorded the event, and the light flashes Red. It saves 10 seconds before and after the incident, and these videos are protected from deletion when the memory card is full.
- Pressing the REC button records an event manually, capturing 10 seconds before and 50 seconds after. These videos are saved permanently by default, even if the memory card is full.
- While the vehicle is parked, the dashcam will record strong impacts. After you start the vehicle, the dashcam assistant will announce, “Events occurred during parking mode”. It will also state how many events have occurred. By default, these videos will not be deleted when the memory card runs out of memory. There are other recording options available, but they should be used with caution as they can max out the memory card and consume power from the vehicle’s battery if not configured correctly. This feature can also be disabled.
- The dashcam will record all audio. If preferred, this can be disabled.
- The dashcam has a Wi-Fi feature (AP mode). This feature allows:
- View the current information of the dash cam and app version.
- Manage the dash cam settings.
- View live video for both front and rear cameras.
- Alignment of the cameras.
- View and download recorded videos.
- The default Wi-Fi password is 123456789.

- The dashcam has an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature. This is not enabled by default and must be configured and calibrated if enabled.
- The dashcam comes with a 32GB Micro-SD card and supports up to 128GB. If a new card is preferred, it should be Class 10/U1 with high endurance for constant writing. Stinger does not offer a larger card. A larger card can be sourced from an electronics seller.
- The dashcam has a battery protection feature that is enabled by default. The feature will trigger at 12.0V, but other trigger voltages are available. There is also a feature for 24V vehicles. Additionally, a Wintertime option raises this trigger by 0.2V for preferred months.
